Title: On The Rails by Ben Stevenson
Type: Original / Limited Edition Print / Framed / Unframed
As William Blake wrote – Tyger Tyger, burning bright, In the forests of the night; What Immortal hand or eye, Could frame thy fearful symmetry? Indeed the tiger is one of nature’s most feared and powerful predators and I love how the poem conjures the tiger’s aura of danger. The Bengal Tiger is of course most recognisable for its beautiful dark vertical stripes on orange-brown fur providing camouflage when hunting prey at night. Unlike other cats the tiger is a fearless and strong swimmer, the largest of the cat species, can reach speeds of 40mph and is an apex predator. What’s not to be impressed by?
Layers of graphite pencil building depth and texture with use of a fine and soft brush which adds subtle tonal changes. This detailed approach in over 50hrs of work results in a modern, crisp and highly detailed finish. Credit for photo reference: Shannon Wild
